An unexpectedly hard shot by Kai Østbye in the 16th minute of play forced Dum Dum Boys Athletics's goalkeeper Kjell Rein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Kai Østbye had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kjell Rein. Dum Dum Boys Athletics's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kai Østbye was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. 24 minutes into the match, Dum Dum Boys Athletics's goal looked a bit too open when Jan-Kenneth Heistad came free, but Kjell Rein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kjell Rein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kai Østbye, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 50th minute, Kai Østbye managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brufoss IL's supporters rose to their feet, but Kai Østbye was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kjell Rein breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Ken Ernstsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 79th play minutes Kent Remme shot 0-8, a short shot which went by Kjell Rein and just under the crossbar into goal. Frode Tobiassen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Kjell Rein made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Dum Dum Boys Athletics's Idar Haugli got a free kick in the 86th minute. Brufoss IL played a much better game than Dum Dum Boys Athletics and deserved their victory. The Dum Dum Boys Athletics players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
