The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leandro Millrick was the one to do the kick off. Sergio Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Arixo in the 55th minute of play. Damaso Benvido's late challenge caught a The Waldos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Damaso Benvido helped the player get up and apologised. Damaso Benvido hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Sergio Romero was a little too slow when Armando Basualdo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 61st minute. The score was now 2-2. The Waldos's Saturnino Llin was substituted for Gaudencio Valery. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leandro Millrick in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hilario Ubendu saved Gimnasia y tiro from getting behind. 77 minutes into the match, Leandro Millrick notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Gimnasia y tiro's Hilario Ubendu. Hilario Ubendu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Gimnasia y tiro booed when The Waldos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anacleto Otsoko didn't get a good kick on the ball. 86 minutes into the game, Ovidio Cutberto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gimnasia y tiro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Waldos the free kick. In the 87th match minute, The Waldos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nico Otamendi to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. The Waldos had won after a very even match.
