The Divorciados FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 10th minute, Alvaro Fidensio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Alvaro Fidensio came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Mercado Paulista F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alvaro Fidensio couldn't finish the play. 23 minutes into the match, Benito Ferdinand had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Angelo Romano. Mercado Paulista F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Benito Ferdinand was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 26 minutes into the game, Benito Ferdinand cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Angelo Romano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herminio Xacintu in the 29th minute of play forced Mercado Paulista F.C's goalkeeper Angelo Romano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alvaro Fidensio got free with Nestor Valery in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 37 minutes into the game, Divorciados FC's Fernando Brion nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Angelo Romano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. The Divorciados FC fans' excitement grew in the 42nd match minute when Divorciados FC's Benito Ferdinand looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Alvaro Fidensio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Nestor Valery tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 54th minute, Domingos Marquez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Herminio Xacintu succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-6 in the 61st playminute. Angelo Romano made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Herminio Xacintu sent off a good shot on target. Benito Ferdinand sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Fernando Brion kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Angelo Romano. That made the score 0-7 in the 70 minute of play. In the 76th minute Natalio Ralondo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nestor Valery saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Divorciados FC booed when Mercado Paulista F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iker Vimaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 80 played minutes Divorciados FC got a freekick which was hit by Benito Ferdinand. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nestor Valery prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fernando Brion recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match was over Divorciados FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Mercado Paulista F.C throughout the match.
