Spectators: 148 (Terracing: 112, Seating: 34, VIP seats: 2) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Serafin Froylan got the match started through his kick off. In the 7th minute, Kaplan's Wilfredo Cordario ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Martinez Maravilha. Martinez Maravilha yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Wilfredo Gitano might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over René Higuita. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wilfredo Gitano ran back to his position shaking his head. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by Kaplan's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wilfredo Gitano was slow to take the kick. During this time Jarana FC's players had a chance to rest. Jarana FC's Wilfredo Gitano got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. René Higuita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilfredo Gitano in the 25th minute of the match. Wilfredo Cordario charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wilfredo Cordario the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some careless play in the Kaplan defense, Wilfredo Gitano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of René Higuita. The Kaplan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that René Higuita should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Kaplan's zone, Wilfredo Gitano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. René Higuita came out of the goal and Wilfredo Gitano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Kaplan players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Jarana FC were winning 1-2.

In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Kaplan's goalkeeper René Higuita, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A hard shot 56 in the game by Wilfredo Gitano from a close distance when the talented René Higuita managed to make a qualified save. Kaplan's players were relieved. The supporters of Kaplan booed when Jarana FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zeledon Hermon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martinez Maravilha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 75 played minutes Jarana FC got a freekick which was hit by Cris Romero. Wilfredo Gitano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but René Higuita read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Kaplan's goalkeeper René Higuita had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wilfredo Gitano. Martinez Maravilha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucio Soin in the 87th minute of the match. 96 minutes into the match, Jarana FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wilfredo Cordario came free, but Martinez Maravilha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Kaplan supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Jarana FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Jarana FC.
