Spectators: 144 (Terracing: 109, Seating: 33, VIP seats: 2) Independiente's Primitivo Duarte started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 7 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Luar came free, but Severino Herena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 8 minutes into the game, Pingos Futbol Club's Elvio Batistuta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Severino Herena made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Severino Herena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edelmiro Maraman in the 11th minute of play. In the 13th minute Edelmiro Maraman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severino Herena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Independiente's Severino Herena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Luar in the 15th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Pingos Futbol Club's goalkeeper Adrian Cordareo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Primitivo Duarte. After 19 minutes, Manuel Henry mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Independiente and the Pingos Futbol Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cornelio Oskitz in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adrian Cordareo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elvio Batistuta during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Independiente booed when Pingos Futbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elvio Batistuta didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Pingos Futbol Club's zone, Cornelio Oskitz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrian Cordareo came out of the goal and Cornelio Oskitz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Independiente's Severino Herena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Luar in the 26th minute of play. A collision led to Independiente getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Leonel Ordono hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Independiente's Evelio Osorio got a free kick in the 46th minute. Edelmiro Maraman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino Herena having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elvio Batistuta made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Independiente's zone, Edelmiro Maraman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severino Herena came out of the goal and Edelmiro Maraman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pingos Futbol Club's Adrian Cordareo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cornelio Oskitz in the 54th minute of play. Roberto Hanot struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Adrian Cordareo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente. Severino Herena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roberto Luar in the 64th minute of the match. Edelmiro Maraman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adrian Cordareo didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Independiente's Cornelio Oskitz shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Independiente's Severino Herena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Independiente from getting a goal against them. Adrian Cordareo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Primitivo Duarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Roberto Luar came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Pingos Futbol Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roberto Luar couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Pingos Futbol Club's Edelmiro Maraman got a free kick in the 78th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Cornelio Oskitz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Independiente's supporters rose to their feet, but Cornelio Oskitz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adrian Cordareo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Primitivo Duarte took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adrian Cordareo. Adrian Cordareo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. When Edelmiro Maraman was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 92 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Pingos Futbol Club's Edelmiro Maraman got a free kick in the 93rd minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Pingos Futbol Club players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Independiente.
