In the 6th minute of the match, Raul Gumaro tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Apolo Richie saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 8th match minute, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albano Asteri to maneuver through the defense. In the 9th minute, Pedro Nataniel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Apolo Richie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nemesio Muc in the 11th minute of the match. With a little luck, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Apolo Richie got control of the ball when Javier Romildo tried to sneak it across the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goalkeeper Apolo Richie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nemesio Muc. Javier Romildo had several of the NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 18 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Apolo Richie as he didn't even see the shot coming. If Pedro Nataniel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dante Quintan hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 37th minute Nemesio Muc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apolo Richie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Justicialista FC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Silvio Mercurio hit a great ball. Conrado Guillelmus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reynaldo Sabin in the 45th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nemesio Muc made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Nemesio Muc left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Justicialista FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Antonio Mundo got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Apolo Richie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Javier Romildo, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Apolo Richie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raul Gumaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the NEWELL´S OLD BOYS defense, Raul Gumaro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Apolo Richie. The NEWELL´S OLD BOYS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Apolo Richie should have stopped the shot. After 76th play minutes Raul Gumaro shot 4-0, a short shot which went by Apolo Richie and just under the crossbar into goal. Apolo Richie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raul Gumaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. 84 minutes into the game, Pedro Nataniel threw the ball into play from the sideline. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Benito Handi quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Pedro Nataniel didn't quite understand what happened when in the 92 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Justicialista FC fully deserved thier win.
