In the 3rd minute, Marlin FC's Ignacio Derwin ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Apolo Richie. Apolo Richie yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 6 minutes into the game, Pablo Orti recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Apolo Richie. Pablo Orti showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. If Ignacio Derwin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignacio Derwin in the 10th minute of play forced NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goalkeeper Apolo Richie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th minute Pablo Orti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apolo Richie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the game, Domingo Jon recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Apolo Richie. Domingo Jon showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Apolo Richie proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save NEWELL´S OLD BOYS from getting a goal against them. Nereo Henry received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Apolo Richie came out and tried to block the shot, but Nereo Henry slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 18th minute. 21 minutes into the game, Domingo Jon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Apolo Richie was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 24 minutes into the game, Marlin FC's Domingo Jon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Apolo Richie made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Nereo Henry kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Apolo Richie. That made the score 7-0 in the 28 minute of play. Apolo Richie came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Marlin FC's Nereo Henry. But to his dismay, Nereo Henry quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. 34 minutes into the game, Nereo Henry cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 9-0. Apolo Richie was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Apolo Richie didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nereo Henry went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 10-0 was the resulting score. Apolo Richie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingo Jon in the 41st minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Guaberto Quico notched a goal, 11-0, to the right of NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Apolo Richie. Apolo Richie was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nereo Henry received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Apolo Richie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ignacio Derwin to make the kick off. After 52 minutes of play, Marlin FC's Domingo Jon made it 12-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Apolo Richie was left in no man's land by his defense there! Apolo Richie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingo Jon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 55 minutes into the match, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goal looked a bit too open when Nereo Henry came free, but Apolo Richie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS were furious when Albano Asteri was red carded, 57 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The supporters of Marlin FC booed when NEWELL´S OLD BOYS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albano Asteri didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 58 minutes of play, Marlin FC's Pablo Orti made it 13-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Apolo Richie was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 62nd minute Nereo Henry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apolo Richie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 63rd minute, Reynaldo Sabin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Apolo Richie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignacio Derwin in the 64th minute of play. After 66 minutes of play, Marlin FC's Nereo Henry made it 14-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Apolo Richie was left in no man's land by his defense there! NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Apolo Richie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingo Jon in the 68th minute of play. Baltasar Rios hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Apolo Richie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pablo Orti, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Apolo Richie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nereo Henry, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 74 minutes into the match, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goal looked a bit too open when Pablo Orti came free, but Apolo Richie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to NEWELL´S OLD BOYS getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Apolo Richie came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Marlin FC's Guaberto Quico. But to his dismay, Guaberto Quico quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 15-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nereo Henry in the 81st minute of play forced NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goalkeeper Apolo Richie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 84th minute Ignacio Derwin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apolo Richie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nereo Henry in the 86th minute of play forced NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goalkeeper Apolo Richie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Apolo Richie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domingo Jon in the 87th minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Arnaldo Darien in the 92nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Antonio Mundo. Apolo Richie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignacio Derwin in the 94th minute of play. After some careless play in the NEWELL´S OLD BOYS defense, Guaberto Quico kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Apolo Richie. The NEWELL´S OLD BOYS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Apolo Richie should have stopped the shot. Marlin FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
