Aves Negras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomás Checa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The Deportivo Pucho fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. In the 18th minute Eustacio Quinten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Salomon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leo Lawrence recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benito Salomon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeledon Cesario, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 25th minute Raul Brion suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edelmiro Martxot during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Deportivo Pucho made a substitution. Rogelio Cordarrel replaced Raul Brion. The supporters of Deportivo Pucho booed when Aves Negras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edelmiro Martxot didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Salomon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomás Checa in the 48th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sebastian Torrico made a kick off. A collision led to Aves Negras getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Enéas Paulista hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Aves Negras's zone, Jaime Tallia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Salomon came out of the goal and Jaime Tallia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 57 minutes into the match, Aves Negras's goal looked a bit too open when Zeledon Cesario came free, but Benito Salomon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Zeledon Cesario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 61 minutes, Agustin Urko mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Aves Negras and the Deportivo Pucho players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Aves Negras's Agustin Urko got a free kick in the 61st minute. After 62 played minutes Aves Negras got a freekick which was hit by Agustin Urko. Benito Salomon came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Pucho's Tomás Checa. But to his dismay, Tomás Checa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eustacio Quinten got free with Benito Salomon in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Rogelio Cordarrel kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Benito Salomon. That made the score 0-6 in the 72 minute of play. Benito Salomon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eustacio Quinten in the 76th minute of play. 77 minutes into the game, Leo Lawrence cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Edgardo Botello was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Severino Gil hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match.
