The audience was convinced that Orlando Castulo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Faustino Azevedo was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Azulgranas AFC's Faustino Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Castulo in the 7th minute of play. When Casimiro Alfonso fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Azulgranas AFC's protests and gave Casimiro Alfonso a yellow card for diving instead. Casimiro Alfonso kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Faustino Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Melchor Joachim in the 11th minute of play. After 13 minutes Azulgranas AFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fidel Curcio who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Imperio Académico's Fidel Curcio to fire away a dangerous shot which Faustino Azevedo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a rather tough play, Azulgranas AFC's Silvano Chorache got a free kick in the 18th minute. Gavino Terciero struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Francisco Chabier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Azulgranas AFC. Faustino Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orlando Castulo, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Azulgranas AFC's Faustino Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Castulo in the 28th minute of play. Melchor Joachim took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Faustino Azevedo. Faustino Azevedo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. During the 39th minute of the match Casimiro Alfonso completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Casimiro Alfonso a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Azulgranas AFC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Casimiro Alfonso hit a great ball. After 42 minutes of play, Imperio Académico's Orlando Castulo made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Faustino Azevedo was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Melchor Joachim in the 47th minute of play forced Azulgranas AFC's goalkeeper Faustino Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gavino Terciero made a kick off. In the 57th minute, Azulgranas AFC's Silvano Chorache seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Silvano Chorache the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Azulgranas AFC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Silvano Chorache had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Imperio Académico made a substitution. Leo Ondino replaced Melchor Joachim. After 56 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Azulgranas AFC! Imperio Académico's Fidel Curcio was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Faustino Azevedo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Eriberto Che fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Azulgranas AFC's protests and gave Eriberto Che a yellow card for diving instead. After 64 played minutes Azulgranas AFC got a freekick which was hit by Eriberto Che. Thanks to some nice moves Orlando Castulo could shoot a difficult shot in the 70th minute, which Faustino Azevedo however easily saved by the left post. Thomas Daniel might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Francisco Chabier. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thomas Daniel ran back to his position shaking his head. Orlando Castulo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Faustino Azevedo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Orlando Castulos short, quick shot in the 82ndth minute got Faustino Azevedo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Leo Ondino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Faustino Azevedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Faustino Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Castulo in the 87th minute of play. In the 89th minute Leo Ondino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faustino Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Faustino Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Ondino, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Faustino Azevedo was out of position in the 98 minute of play, and Leo Ondino capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Leo Ondino really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Imperio Académico eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
