Defensores del Ángel Gris's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 10 minutes into the match, Defensores del Ángel Gris's goal looked a bit too open when Benigno Conrao came free, but Aquilino Iruinea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Universitario Pincharrata's zone, Braulio Cerilo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nereo Pedroso came out of the goal and Braulio Cerilo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Universitario Pincharrata played a much better game than Defensores del Ángel Gris and deserved their victory. The Defensores del Ángel Gris players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
