After a defensive mix-up in Loco De Remate's zone, Cosme Lizar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuel Mancio came out of the goal and Cosme Lizar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aquilino Iruinea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jesus Librado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute, Alvaro Resto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Defensores del Ángel Gris's Romeo Delfino quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Gaston Mogel, made in the 52nd minute of the game. In the 54th minute Florencio Orlanda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aquilino Iruinea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rolando Luar during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
