The crowd rose to their feet as Liberland's Carmelo Silbestre slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Filiberto Fidele. That made the score 1-1 after 8 minutes of play. With a little luck, El Retorno de Palermo's Filiberto Fidele got control of the ball when Carmelo Silbestre tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Fabio Rencio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cayetano Florinio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rosendo Izotz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Liberland's Cristo Todor got a free kick in the 20th minute. Liberland's Cayetano Florinio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hilario Mikeldi in the 21st minute of play. Fabio Rencio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filiberto Fidele having to interfere. Filiberto Fidele showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pastor Rutenio in the 28th minute of the match. In the 38th minute, Cristo Todor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Liberland's Cayetano Florinio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelino Bernard in the 40th minute of play. Cayetano Florinio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rosendo Izotz in the 41st minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carmelo Silbestre to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Carmelo Silbestre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filiberto Fidele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rosendo Izotz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Cayetano Florinio made a huge save. Filiberto Fidele didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rafael Erramun went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Alberto Walme was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 65 minutes into the match. 64 minutes into the game, one of El Retorno de Palermo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Filiberto Fidele went to the wrong direction when Rafael Erramun was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Filiberto Fidele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pastor Rutenio, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Bernardo Illart hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute Angelino Bernard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cayetano Florinio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, El Retorno de Palermo's goal looked a bit too open when Pastor Rutenio came free, but Filiberto Fidele reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st minute, Rafael Erramun left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Liberland fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. In the 87th minute Florencio Patrido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cayetano Florinio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 89th minute, Pastor Rutenio made a precise shot to the right of Filiberto Fidele. El Retorno de Palermo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Liberland's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
