The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abel Dimas during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 3rd match minute, Vaqueteros FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Dimas to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 4 minutes, Arnaldo Jurdan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Espinillos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnaldo Jurdan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Vaqueteros FC fans' excitement grew in the 6th match minute when Vaqueteros FC's Marcelo Marin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a rather tough play, Vaqueteros FC's Abel Dimas got a free kick in the 10th minute. After some careless play in the Los Espinillos FC defense, Orlando Fanuco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Isaac Guzman. The Los Espinillos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Isaac Guzman should have stopped the shot. During the 23rd minute of the match Abel Dimas completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Abel Dimas a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 23rd minute, Abel Dimas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vaqueteros FC's Romeo Dorio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Jurdan in the 27th minute of play. A collision led to Los Espinillos FC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Modesto Inautzi hit a great ball. In the 29th minute of the match Melchor Asier sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Isaac Guzman skillfully saved the ball. Vaqueteros FC's Florentino Lastur got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, Orlando Fanuco notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Los Espinillos FC's Isaac Guzman. Isaac Guzman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Los Espinillos FC's zone, Orlando Fanuco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isaac Guzman came out of the goal and Orlando Fanuco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armando Bastia got free with Romeo Dorio in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 44 played minutes Vaqueteros FC got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Marin. Romeo Dorio was a little too slow when Armando Bastia got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 47th minute. The score was now 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Armando Bastia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fernan Lohitzun kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Florentino Lastur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adolfo Tipi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeo Dorio having to interfere. If Marcelo Marin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Los Espinillos FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Ricardo Mateus hit a great ball. Melchor Asier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Florentino Lastur managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vaqueteros FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Florentino Lastur was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Isaac Guzman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 86 minutes, Marcelo Marin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vaqueteros FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcelo Marin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
