Juan Ignacio Cianci's late challenge caught a AC Batán's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan Ignacio Cianci helped the player get up and apologised. After 7 played minutes C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA got a freekick which was hit by Juan Ignacio Cianci. Benedicto Claude did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Zeledon Markel 8 minutes into the match. After 11 minutes of play, C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA's Juan Ignacio Cianci made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carolo Lluis was left in no man's land by his defense there! Carolo Lluis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anastasio Nicholas in the 13th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juan Ignacio Cianci in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carolo Lluis saved AC Batán from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Juan Ignacio Cianci put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Carolo Lluis. The C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA's Juan Ignacio Cianci looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benedicto Claude got free with Zeledon Markel in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Lázaro Eyague in the 34th minute. The corner led C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA's Lázaro Eyague to fire away a dangerous shot which Carolo Lluis despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 36 minutes into the game, C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA's Guillermo Barros Schelotto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carolo Lluis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Carolo Lluis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillermo Barros Schelotto, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 66th minute, Juan Ignacio Cianci ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carolo Lluis was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-6. In the 70thth minute of the game Juan Ignacio Cianci who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AC Batán's Carolo Lluis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zeledon Markel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 85 minutes into the match, AC Batán's goalkeeper Carolo Lluis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juan Ignacio Cianci. The AC Batán fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. C.A. SAN MARTIN MZA were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
