The referee showed Luis Manni the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Villa Ballester FC's Luis Manni got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 14th minute Juan Ignacio Villarroel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Freddy Markel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Bob Hostens had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Freddy Markel. Villa Ballester FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bob Hostens was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Sotelo AFC's Juan Ignacio Villarroel got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Villa Ballester FC's Freddy Markel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Ignacio Villarroel in the 44th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Villa Ballester FC's zone, Juan Ignacio Villarroel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Freddy Markel came out of the goal and Juan Ignacio Villarroel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arsenio Efraim to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Augusto Olentzaro in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Freddy Markel saved Villa Ballester FC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Ignacio Villarroel in the 52nd minute of play forced Villa Ballester FC's goalkeeper Freddy Markel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 55 minutes into the match, Villa Ballester FC's goalkeeper Freddy Markel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juan Ignacio Villarroel. Juan Ignacio Villarroel's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 57thth minute, Freddy Markel skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Bob Hostens took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Freddy Markel. Freddy Markel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Juan Ignacio Villarroel might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Freddy Markel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Juan Ignacio Villarroel ran back to his position shaking his head. 64 minutes into the match, Villa Ballester FC's goalkeeper Freddy Markel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leopoldo Manilan. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arsenio Efraim in the 66th minute of play forced Sotelo AFC's goalkeeper Cecilio Joanes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Freddy Markel made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Augusto Olentzaro sent off a good shot on target. Juan Ignacio Villarroel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 74 minutes, Augusto Olentzaro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sotelo AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Augusto Olentzaro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Freddy Markel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juan Ignacio Villarroel in the 79th minute. 83 minutes into the match, Augusto Olentzaro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Freddy Markel. Villa Ballester FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Augusto Olentzaro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Juan Ignacio Villarroel in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Freddy Markel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Villa Ballester FC's Freddy Markel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Villa Ballester FC from getting a goal against them. In the 94th minute, Bob Hostens sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Villa Ballester FC's Freddy Markel didn't even have to move. Freddy Markel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Ignacio Villarroel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match was over Sotelo AFC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Villa Ballester FC throughout the match.
