The Mainumby fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Santiago Gau should have stopped the shot. Santiago Gau showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto Xabier, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Victor Gelmiro hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After 13 played minutes, Club Atlético Magallanes's Mauro Lobo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Santiago Gau came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Club Atlético Magallanes reached it. After some careless play in the Mainumby defense, Mauro Lobo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Santiago Gau. The Mainumby fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Santiago Gau should have stopped the shot. After having played for 23 minutes, Amadeo Olivar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mainumby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amadeo Olivar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 25 minutes of play, Club Atlético Magallanes's Taci Argün made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Santiago Gau was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mainumby's Santiago Gau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Taci Argün in the 28th minute of play. Santiago Gau showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Lobo, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Santiago Gau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Taci Argün in the 30th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Club Atlético Magallanes defense, Gerardo Oinatz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leon Oliverio. The Club Atlético Magallanes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leon Oliverio should have stopped the shot. 35 minutes into the match, Taci Argün had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Santiago Gau. Mainumby's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Taci Argün was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Leon Oliverio made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Armando Beltza sent off a good shot on target. 40 minutes into the match, Mainumby's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Lobo came free, but Santiago Gau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st match minute, Mainumby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Beltza to maneuver through the defense. Santiago Gau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Taci Argün, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerardo Oinatz in the 71st minute of play forced Club Atlético Magallanes's goalkeeper Leon Oliverio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 94 minutes, Amadeo Olivar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mainumby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amadeo Olivar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 96 minutes into the match, Mainumby's goalkeeper Santiago Gau had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Taci Argün. The Club Atlético Magallanes players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
