The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Chiquinho Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manoel Barros in the 4th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lucas Janson got free with Leon Oliverio in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 17th minute Taci Argün shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chiquinho Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chiquinho Romero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto Xabier, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 22nd minute Augusto Xabier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chiquinho Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Frontera AFC's Cristian Medina got a free kick in the 23rd minute. A collision led to Frontera AFC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Miguel Merentiel hit a great ball. Manoel Barros took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Chiquinho Romero. Frontera AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 26th minute, Augusto Xabier ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Chiquinho Romero was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Leon Oliverio made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Lucas Janson sent off a good shot on target. Mauro Lobo hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. 43 minutes into the match, Frontera AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Xabier came free, but Chiquinho Romero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lucas Janson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leon Oliverio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
A collision led to Club Atlético Magallanes getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Augusto Xabier hit a great ball. Taci Argün received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Chiquinho Romero came out and tried to block the shot, but Taci Argün slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 55th minute. In the 59th minute, Lucas Janson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leon Oliverio was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. In the 63rd minute, Frontera AFC's Cristian Medina seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Cristian Medina the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Frontera AFC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Cristian Medina had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 63rd minute of the game. One of Frontera AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Club Atlético Magallanes:s goal. Chiquinho Romero had in the 66thth minute some difficulties stopping Taci Argün's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Club Atlético Magallanes were awarded a corner in the 69th minute after Frontera AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Manoel Barros took the corner. Miguel Merentiel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 77 minutes into the match, Frontera AFC's goalkeeper Chiquinho Romero had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Taci Argün. Chiquinho Romero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manoel Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alberto Márcico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Leon Oliverio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Club Atlético Magallanes's attentive Taci Argün managed to snatch the ball when Aquilino Dunixi made a throw-in in the 85th minute of the game. Chiquinho Romero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manoel Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. When Severino Cucao came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Frontera AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severino Cucao couldn't finish the play. In the 92nd minute Augusto Xabier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chiquinho Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Severino Cucao recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Romeo Etor kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
