Gerónimo Rulli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisito Atauri in the 5th minute of play. Andres Peru kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. After 16 played minutes Maravilla got a freekick which was hit by Haroldo Frutos. Haroldo Frutos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Constantino Elija read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. A collision led to Maravilla getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Zeledon Danel hit a great ball. 31 minutes into the game, Haroldo Frutos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maravilla's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Yalapa the free kick. The audience was convinced that Haroldo Frutos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Constantino Elija was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. A sloppy throw-in by Leonides Gutxi in the 42nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Maravilla's Clemente Quinten. Yalapa's Constantino Elija played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haroldo Frutos in the 42nd minute of play. In the 45th minute Haroldo Frutos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Constantino Elija saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Maravilla's Clemente Quinten quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Leonides Gutxi, made in the 51st minute of the game. After some careless play in the Yalapa defense, Angel Vasco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Constantino Elija. The Yalapa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Constantino Elija should have stopped the shot. Haroldo Frutos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Simon Eneto's late challenge caught a Maravilla's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Simon Eneto helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Yalapa's Simon Eneto got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 61st minute, Maravilla's Haroldo Frutos dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. Andres Peru kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 68 minutes, Constantino Elija successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 73 minutes of play Maravilla's Haroldo Frutos was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by Angel Vasco got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 81st minute, Angel Vasco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 89th minute, Yalapa's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Angel Vasco fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Angel Vasco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Constantino Elija having to make a save. Angel Vasco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Constantino Elija tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Maravilla walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
