An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomiro Senio in the 47th minute of play forced Waitakere F.C.'s goalkeeper Benigno Niva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Waitakere F.C. were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Humberto Hermon to strike the kick off in the second half. Domínguez AFC's Astor Rivas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alonzo Berbiz in the 52nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Waitakere F.C.'s Alonzo Berbiz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Astor Rivas. That made the score 0-4 after 82 minutes of play. Alonzo Berbiz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Astor Rivas made a huge save. In the 87th minute Alonzo Berbiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Astor Rivas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 88 minutes into the game, Eliseo Libertad cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Astor Rivas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Domínguez AFC booed when Waitakere F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jairo Feo didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Hermon in the 93rd minute of play forced Waitakere F.C.'s goalkeeper Benigno Niva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
