The supporters of POSSE 1911 FC booed when Furia Calamar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iván Rossi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Furia Calamar's goalkeeper Primitivo Aballe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Furia Calamar's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Venancio Dimas was slow to take the kick. During this time POSSE 1911 FC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Venancio Dimas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Primitivo Aballe quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Godfredo Xabel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute there was a penalty for POSSE 1911 FC. Venancio Dimas stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Primitivo Aballe. 0-1. Feliberto Gaskon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Delmar Duarte in the 45th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Camilo Marin was the one to do the kick off. Feliberto Gaskon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erubiel Matthew in the 52nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Camilo Marin in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Feliberto Gaskon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 55th match minute, Furia Calamar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iván Rossi to maneuver through the defense. Primitivo Aballe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Godfredo Xabel's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. 65 minutes into the match, Furia Calamar's goal looked a bit too open when Godfredo Xabel came free, but Primitivo Aballe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Godfredo Xabel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Primitivo Aballe having to interfere. 69 minutes into the game, Venancio Dimas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. POSSE 1911 FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Furia Calamar the free kick. Feliberto Gaskon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ambrosio Herena in the 70th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zeledon Madaleno during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
