When Erasmo Sengrat came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Congo Bongo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erasmo Sengrat couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Efren in the 20th minute of play forced Congo Bongo's goalkeeper Diego Ceresso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lino Peru hit a great ball. After the first half Alvarado de Mar del Plata were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Pedro Efren made the kick off in the second half. After 56 played minutes Congo Bongo got a freekick which was hit by Evaristo Cordeara. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Segundo Laurendi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Segundo Laurendi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonatan Bortzaioriz, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 63rd minute, Victoriano Jerrold left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Congo Bongo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1.
