Geronimo Sagrario fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edelmiro Ticho having to interfere. Edelmiro Ticho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Donato Nuxila in the 16th minute. In the 37th minute of the match Mauricio Gartzi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edelmiro Ticho skillfully saved the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Terry Jones got free with Edelmiro Ticho in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Geronimo Sagrario sped through Almeyra F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Edelmiro Ticho. Gaspar Gitano hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. When Fulgencio Natal came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Almeyra F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fulgencio Natal couldn't finish the play. Quilmes's Rodrigo Delfino was substituted for Donato Nuxila.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Geronimo Sagrario to strike the kick off in the second half. Geronimo Sagrario recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 59th minute, Terry Jones got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geronimo Sagrario in the 66th minute of play forced Almeyra F.C.'s goalkeeper Edelmiro Ticho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 68 minutes of play, Quilmes's Geronimo Sagrario made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edelmiro Ticho was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 74th minute, Edgardo Ugutz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Quilmes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Fulgencio Natal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Christopher Hawthorne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Almeyra F.C. booed when Quilmes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteban Hotz didn't get a good kick on the ball.
