But to his dismay, Godfredo Fero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 24 minutes into the match, Gryffindor Lions's goal looked a bit too open when Godfredo Fero came free, but Rafael Refugio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rafael Refugio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Godfredo Fero in the 28th minute. Gryffindor Lions's Rafael Refugio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvano Salvadore in the 31st minute of play. Mauricio Eneas's late challenge caught a Patricio Rey Futbol Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mauricio Eneas helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Gryffindor Lions's Mauricio Eneas got a free kick in the 33rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angel Isusko in the 37th minute of play forced Patricio Rey Futbol Club's goalkeeper Benigno Cordeara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anibal Froylan charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anibal Froylan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Anibal Froylan hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The long shot by Basilio Lia in the 47th minute really tested Rafael Refugio's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Teofilo Hustaz might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rafael Refugio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Teofilo Hustaz ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Godfredo Fero in the 52nd minute of play forced Gryffindor Lions's goalkeeper Rafael Refugio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 53 minutes into the game, Israel Geofredo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gryffindor Lions's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Patricio Rey Futbol Club the free kick. The supporters of Patricio Rey Futbol Club booed when Gryffindor Lions was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Israel Geofredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. During the 57th minute of the match Anibal Froylan completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Anibal Froylan a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Anibal Froylan kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Teofilo Hustaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Refugio having to interfere. Rafael Refugio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Godfredo Fero, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Angel Isusko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gryffindor Lions's supporters rose to their feet, but Angel Isusko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benigno Cordeara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 72 minutes into the match, Gryffindor Lions's goal looked a bit too open when Godfredo Fero came free, but Rafael Refugio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Godfredo Fero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Rafael Refugio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Gryffindor Lions defense, Godfredo Fero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rafael Refugio. The Gryffindor Lions fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rafael Refugio should have stopped the shot. Patricio Rey Futbol Club's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
