Aaron Mero was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Aaron Mero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Higinio Machado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aaron Mero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximino Navarro, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 22nd minute Roberto Guifre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aaron Mero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Ladislao Ruisko notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Yofré AFC's Aaron Mero. With a little luck, Yofré AFC's Aaron Mero got control of the ball when Ladislao Ruisko tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Victor Bidun fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Yofré AFC's protests and gave Victor Bidun a yellow card for diving instead. In the 56th minute, Ulises Sandaili hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Higinio Machado in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aaron Mero saved Yofré AFC from getting behind. After 63 minutes, Raul Enetz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vélez Juniors and the Yofré AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 63rd minute, Raul Enetz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Oscar Chaime had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 66 minutes into the match, Yofré AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Maximino Navarro came free, but Aaron Mero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute of the match, Ulises Sandaili tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Aaron Mero saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, Yofré AFC's Dario Tipi got a free kick in the 78th minute. Roberto Guifre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Aaron Mero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aaron Mero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulises Sandaili, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 86th minute, Maximino Navarro made a precise shot to the right of Aaron Mero. Yofré AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-6. The supporters of Yofré AFC booed when Vélez Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Higinio Machado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vélez Juniors played a much better game than Yofré AFC and deserved their victory. The Yofré AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
