After 38 played minutes Estudiantes de América got a freekick which was hit by Rolando Erasto. 41 minutes into the game, Elvio Paublo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Estudiantes de América's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Boca Juniors the free kick. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when Estudiantes de América was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elvio Paublo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Bernardo Ado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adan Grabiel. Boca Juniors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bernardo Ado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1.

The wind increased when Felix Quinteros made the kick off in the second half. Adrian Ospetsu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Quinteros, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 80thth minute of the game Felix Quinteros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Estudiantes de América's Adrian Ospetsu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 90 minutes, Felix Quinteros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Boca Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Quinteros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adrian Ospetsu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Quinteros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Felix Quinteros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boca Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Quinteros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adrian Ospetsu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
