Esbjerg fB's Lavritz Junghøj got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abel Strim made a kick off. Lavritz Junghøj struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Oluf Elmerdahl didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esbjerg fB. The crowd rose to their feet as Esbjerg fB's Karsten Kastager slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Oluf Elmerdahl. That made the score 0-2 after 56 minutes of play. In the 59th minute Abel Strim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Sørensen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sean Tillebeck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Kenni Perlfors fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Sørensen having to interfere. Thomas Sørensen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Piotr Physant, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Esbjerg fB's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
