Ivan Merkushev didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Louis Bow went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. 15 minutes into the match, FC Shakhtar Donetsk's goal looked a bit too open when Klim Konovalov came free, but Donny Hooker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Shymkent Camels getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Aleksey Favorskiy hit a great ball. With 28 minutes on the clock, Ruslan Gak commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 28 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Shymkent Camels! The goalkeeper, Ivan Merkushev, was totally fooled by FC Shakhtar Donetsk's Toby Morgan, who 31 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After some careless play in the Shymkent Camels defense, Tony Froggatt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ivan Merkushev. The Shymkent Camels fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ivan Merkushev should have stopped the shot. Ivan Merkushev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Louis Bow, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Donny Hooker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Demyan Silkin, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Shymkent Camels's Ivan Merkushev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tony Froggatt in the 41st minute of play. Tony Froggatt received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ivan Merkushev came out and tried to block the shot, but Tony Froggatt slotted it home off the left post making it 6-0 in the 42nd minute. Ivan Merkushev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Austen Tanner in the 46th minute of the match. 47 minutes into the match, Toby Morgan dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ivan Merkushev, 7-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 7-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Demyan Silkin to make the kick off. Ivan Merkushev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Austen Tanner, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Louis Bow in the 55th minute of play forced Shymkent Camels's goalkeeper Ivan Merkushev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute Tony Froggatt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Merkushev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giles Le Saux hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Demyan Silkin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Donny Hooker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 70 played minutes Shymkent Camels got a freekick which was hit by Rustam Chernetsov. Ivan Merkushev came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by FC Shakhtar Donetsk's Louis Bow. But to his dismay, Louis Bow quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-0. Louis Bow sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 76th minute, Tony Froggatt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Shakhtar Donetsk fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 10-0. After 85 minutes of play, FC Shakhtar Donetsk's Louis Bow made it 11-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ivan Merkushev was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ivan Merkushev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Louis Bow, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 89th minute Tony Froggatt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Merkushev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Demyan Silkin in the 91st minute of play forced FC Shakhtar Donetsk's goalkeeper Donny Hooker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Austen Tanner in the 96th minute of play forced Shymkent Camels's goalkeeper Ivan Merkushev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Shakhtar Donetsk's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
