When Myroslav Zanevskyi came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Philadelphia Union FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Myroslav Zanevskyi couldn't finish the play. Gaudencio Bermudez kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the game, Stefan Gustavsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Philadelphia Union FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Swatar United FC the free kick. A collision led to Philadelphia Union FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Stefan Gustavsson hit a great ball. After 13 played minutes, Swatar United FC's Robbie Xriha shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dominic Orcondona came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Swatar United FC reached it. In the 16th match minute, Swatar United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ismael Gulia to maneuver through the defense. Ismael Gulia was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 24 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the game, one of Swatar United FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Luke Preca had in the 26thth minute some difficulties stopping Stefan Gustavsson's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his right side, but he still managed to hold the ball 26 minutes into the game, Stefan Gustavsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Luke Preca was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 30 played minutes Swatar United FC got a freekick which was hit by Leo Axisa. Luke Preca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Saron in the 31st minute of play. Humberto Saron kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ian Montanaro in the 38th minute of play forced Philadelphia Union FC's goalkeeper Dominic Orcondona to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39thth minute of the game Myroslav Zanevskyi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Swatar United FC's Luke Preca was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Daniel Ghigo kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Stefan Gustavsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Philadelphia Union FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Stefan Gustavsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luke Preca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Neil Testaferrata Olivier's late challenge caught a Philadelphia Union FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Neil Testaferrata Olivier helped the player get up and apologised. Philadelphia Union FC made a substitution. Belmiro Paris replaced Yevgen Romanenko. After a rather tough play, Swatar United FC's Neil Testaferrata Olivier got a free kick in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The wind increased when Humberto Saron made the kick off in the second half. Luke Preca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Myroslav Zanevskyi in the 52nd minute of play. After 53 played minutes Philadelphia Union FC got a freekick which was hit by Lev Voinarovskyi. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ian Montanaro during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Philadelphia Union FC booed when Swatar United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ian Montanaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Myroslav Zanevskyi in the 57th minute of play forced Swatar United FC's goalkeeper Luke Preca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. One of Philadelphia Union FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Swatar United FC:s goal. Robbie Xriha took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dominic Orcondona. Dominic Orcondona dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Philadelphia Union FC's Paulo Renato Mandrak was substituted for Myroslav Zanevskyi. Ian Montanaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dominic Orcondona having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulo Renato Mandrak in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luke Preca saved Swatar United FC from getting behind. The attack was good, but when Paulo Renato Mandrak in the 68th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Miltos Mouratidis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 76th minute, Neil Testaferrata Olivier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 77 minutes, Paulo Renato Mandrak managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Philadelphia Union FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Renato Mandrak was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luke Preca came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Philadelphia Union FC's Paulo Renato Mandrak. But to his dismay, Paulo Renato Mandrak quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. In the 85th minute, Belmiro Paris hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Swatar United FC defense, Paulo Renato Mandrak kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luke Preca. The Swatar United FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luke Preca should have stopped the shot. Tymur Drabenyuk's late challenge caught a Swatar United FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tymur Drabenyuk helped the player get up and apologised. In the 97th minute, Tymur Drabenyuk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Many of Swatar United FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Swatar United FC may have spent more time on the ball, but Philadelphia Union FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
