With a couple of smart ball manuevers Myroslav Zanevskyi in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Florian Bürzle saved Liechtenstein City from getting behind. Florian Bürzle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humberto Saron in the 7th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rossario Schlegel during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 8 played minutes Liechtenstein City got a freekick which was hit by Rossario Schlegel. After 15 minutes, Gaudencio Bermudez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Philadelphia Union FC and the Liechtenstein City players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Liechtenstein City booed when Philadelphia Union FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaudencio Bermudez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th minute Michele Nutsch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dominic Orcondona saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Reichlin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 17th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dominic Orcondona. Philadelphia Union FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 19 minutes into the game, Daniel Reichlin threw the ball into play from the sideline. Philadelphia Union FC's Domenico Costacurta quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 20 minutes into the game, Sven-John Telic was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Liechtenstein City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Philadelphia Union FC the free kick. After 20 played minutes Liechtenstein City got a freekick which was hit by Sven-John Telic. Florian Bürzle didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Myroslav Zanevskyi went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 23rd minute, Raphael Alabor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Reichlin kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Myroslav Zanevskyi fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Florian Bürzle was a little too slow when Humberto Saron got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 32nd minute. The score was now 3-0. Florian Bürzle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humberto Saron in the 36th minute of the match. In the 38th minute of the match Philadelphia Union FC got a corner. Liechtenstein City's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nazariy Boyko ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Philadelphia Union FC's Nazariy Boyko to fire away a dangerous shot which Florian Bürzle despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 41 minutes, Domenico Costacurta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Philadelphia Union FC and the Liechtenstein City players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 41st match minute, Philadelphia Union FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domenico Costacurta to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute of the match Sam Bürzle shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dominic Orcondona showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With his leg Florian Bürzle managed to avoid a goal in the 43rdth minute, when Philadelphia Union FC's Myroslav Zanevskyi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Florian Bürzle came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Philadelphia Union FC's Myroslav Zanevskyi. But to his dismay, Myroslav Zanevskyi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0.

Humberto Saron succeeded in the game's 54th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 5-0. Philadelphia Union FC's Myroslav Zanevskyi got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 59thth minute of the game Myroslav Zanevskyi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Liechtenstein City's Florian Bürzle was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Liechtenstein City booed when Philadelphia Union FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaudencio Bermudez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Philadelphia Union FC made a substitution. Denys Karmalita replaced Myroslav Zanevskyi. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Denys Karmalita in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Florian Bürzle prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Florian Bürzle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denys Karmalita in the 77th minute of play. After some careless play in the Liechtenstein City defense, Denys Karmalita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Florian Bürzle. The Liechtenstein City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Florian Bürzle should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Liechtenstein City's zone, Denys Karmalita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florian Bürzle came out of the goal and Denys Karmalita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dominic Orcondona took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michele Nutsch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Denys Karmalita in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Florian Bürzle saved Liechtenstein City from getting behind. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Philadelphia Union FC had played much better football throughout.
