The Meerkats FC fans' excitement grew in the 5th match minute when Meerkats FC's Leonard Calleja looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 9th minute Leonard Calleja shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Deukalion Sotiris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the game, Meerkats FC's Zach Gerada nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Deukalion Sotiris made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Zach Gerada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leonard Calleja in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Deukalion Sotiris saved OMONOIA from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonard Calleja in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Deukalion Sotiris prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 26th minute Leonard Calleja shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Deukalion Sotiris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vaggelis Ruvelas succeeded in the game's 28th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-1. After 34 played minutes Leonard Calleja rounded OMONOIA's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 4-1. Deukalion Sotiris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zach Testaferrata Viani, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. When Kevin Musu came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Meerkats FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kevin Musu couldn't finish the play. Zach Gerada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Deukalion Sotiris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, OMONOIA's Aigis Antonopoulos got a free kick in the 45th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-1.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Vaggelis Ruvelas in the 52nd minute of play forced Meerkats FC's goalkeeper Frederick Scicluna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Deukalion Sotiris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrea Bonett in the 55th minute of the match. 59 minutes into the match, OMONOIA's goal looked a bit too open when Leonard Calleja came free, but Deukalion Sotiris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Deukalion Sotiris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonard Calleja, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After 62 minutes OMONOIA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Robert Portanier who took care of the corner kick. Konstantinos Triantis thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Deukalion Sotiris, a very annoying self made goal in the 62nd minute which led to 5-1. When Meerkats FC's Leonard Calleja in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye OMONOIA's goalie prevented a goal. If Zach Testaferrata Viani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th minute, OMONOIA's Vaggelis Ruvelas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Frederick Scicluna. Frederick Scicluna yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 6-2. After a rather tough play, Meerkats FC's Anton De Battista got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind OMONOIA's goalkeeper Deukalion Sotiris, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
