Criciúma Esporte Clube were furious when Kaiet Marcos was red carded, 26 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Tiburcio Haces had in the 27thth minute some difficulties stopping Xalvador Villegas's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Tiburcio Haces didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Xalvador Villegas went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 33 minutes into the match, Romelu Lukaku notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Criciúma Esporte Clube's Tiburcio Haces. Tiburcio Haces was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 36th match minute, Criciúma Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agostinho Sobaler to maneuver through the defense. Tiburcio Haces made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romelu Lukaku in the 42nd minute of play. After 44 minutes of play, ℄ΣᏩモ₦ፚ ℱ.Ȼ's Romelu Lukaku made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tiburcio Haces was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Romelu Lukaku to make the kick off. Sixto Balderrama kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. Romelu Lukaku had several of the Criciúma Esporte Clube's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 52 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-5 score and a disappointed Tiburcio Haces as he didn't even see the shot coming. 55 minutes into the match, Romelu Lukaku had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tiburcio Haces. Criciúma Esporte Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Romelu Lukaku was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. Sigmund Ferdi made in the 62nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Criciúma Esporte Clube's Julian Robira. If Romelu Lukaku had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Criciúma Esporte Clube's Tiburcio Haces played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romelu Lukaku in the 67th minute of play. Tiburcio Haces took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romelu Lukaku, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ciro Torrascasana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th minute, Romelu Lukaku ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tiburcio Haces was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. 90 minutes into the match, Criciúma Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Romelu Lukaku came free, but Tiburcio Haces reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Criciúma Esporte Clube's Sixto Balderrama got a free kick in the 93rd minute.
