The crowd rose to their feet as Criciúma Esporte Clube's Yeferson Soteldo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Taurino Caraballo. That made the score 0-5 after 88 minutes of play. When Sixto Balderrama fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Criciúma Esporte Clube's protests and gave Sixto Balderrama a yellow card for diving instead. After 95 played minutes Criciúma Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Sixto Balderrama. When the final whistle sounded Criciúma Esporte Clube left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Leones FC.
