Criciúma Esporte Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Presebal Baldes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Rik Sirguero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yeferson Soteldo in the 33rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernard Lizarazu in the 35th minute of play forced Criciúma Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Tiburcio Haces to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Freddy Rincón could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Rik Sirguero made a huge save. 40 minutes into the match, Presebal Baldes notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Criciúma Esporte Clube's Tiburcio Haces. Tiburcio Haces was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Goizeder Parserises was the one to do the kick off. Criciúma Esporte Clube's Tiburcio Haces played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernard Lizarazu in the 62nd minute of play. Marcel Salmon hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Presebal Baldes put it in 0-6 from a short distance just to the right of Tiburcio Haces. Mário Yepes kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. The supporters of Criciúma Esporte Clube booed when Fire Breathers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcel Salmon didn't get a good kick on the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Fire Breathers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ciro Torrascasana came free, but Rik Sirguero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Goizeder Parserises kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tiburcio Haces. That made the score 0-7 in the 86 minute of play. 89 minutes into the game, Presebal Baldes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-8. Tiburcio Haces was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tiburcio Haces made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Presebal Baldes in the 93rd minute of play. When the match was over Fire Breathers FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Criciúma Esporte Clube throughout the match.
