After 12 played minutes Monitor Huáscar got a freekick which was hit by Benigno Torne. 17 minutes into the match, Gilesindo Tarapiella notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Monitor Huáscar's Ferman Basabe. Ferman Basabe was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 20th minute, Gilesindo Tarapiella made a precise shot to the right of Ferman Basabe. Monitor Huáscar's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Caaguazu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Monitor Huáscar the free kick. In the 39th match minute, Caaguazu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baldomero Vellon to maneuver through the defense. Ricardo Rivadeneyra-Gamonal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vincente Monzon having to make a save. If Bidari Ansola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ferman Basabe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gilesindo Tarapiella went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. Caaguazu's Gilesindo Tarapiella pulled a muscle in his back after 45 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 45 minutes, David-Adriano Rivadeneyra-Salgado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Monitor Huáscar and the Caaguazu players grew even worse after the yellow card. David-Adriano Rivadeneyra-Salgado kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The Monitor Huáscar players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Caaguazu were winning 1-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bidari Ansola stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee ignored Monitor Huáscar's protests and gave Humberto Sagasti a yellow card for diving instead. Humberto Sagasti hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Monitor Huáscar's Turi Larrategui was substituted for David-Adriano Rivadeneyra-Salgado. A collision led to Monitor Huáscar getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Ferman Basabe came out of the goal and Conrado Faron tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ferman Basabe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Conrado Faron in the 95th minute of the match. When the match was over Caaguazu could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Monitor Huáscar throughout the match.
