The crowd rose to their feet as Buenaventura FC's André-Pierre Gignac slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Zxavian Abeitia. That made the score 1-3 after 91 minutes of play. In the 95th minute Valentim Abello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonidas Barrera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If André-Pierre Gignac had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The El Pulpo Paceño supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Buenaventura FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Buenaventura FC.
