Juan Guerrero kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. With a little luck, HORTALEZA FC's Carlo Sánchez got control of the ball when Salbatore Contreras tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 11 played minutes HORTALEZA FC got a freekick which was hit by Ion Balboa. Genaro Japón came free with the goalkeeper in the 11th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Carlo Sánchez could save by the left post. Carlo Sánchez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucila Beloki in the 14th minute of play. Futbolin's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by John Herrera in the 15th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ion Balboa in the 17th minute of play forced Futbolin's goalkeeper Cristiano Garcia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 19 played minutes Futbolin got a freekick which was hit by Berdaitz Lama. HORTALEZA FC's Carlo Sánchez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save HORTALEZA FC from getting a goal against them. In the 24th minute Romeo Torrente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristiano Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlo Sánchez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Genaro Japón in the 26th minute. The corner led Futbolin's John Herrera to fire away a dangerous shot which Carlo Sánchez despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of HORTALEZA FC booed when Futbolin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guilabertus Carceles didn't get a good kick on the ball. The attack was good, but when Lucila Beloki in the 36th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Cristiano Garcia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ion Balboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After a rather tough play, Futbolin's Larra Rico got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 40th minute, Ion Balboa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The HORTALEZA FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 46th minute, John Herrera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half HORTALEZA FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ion Balboa to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Ion Balboa took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Cristiano Garcia to make any attempt to save it. In the 56th minute Manuel Rossello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlo Sánchez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Futbolin's Miro Arraz got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 64th match minute, HORTALEZA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eneas Munoz to maneuver through the defense. 66 minutes into the match, Futbolin's goal looked a bit too open when Ion Balboa came free, but Cristiano Garcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, HORTALEZA FC's Cristiano Garcia threw himself towards the right post 74 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ion Balboa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Lucila Beloki took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlo Sánchez. Carlo Sánchez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
