Spectators: 157 (Terracing: 118, Seating: 36, VIP seats: 3) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Filiberto Paredes kicked off to start the match. In the 5th minute, Valdo Salas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The PERSPOLIS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Virgilio Marcilla made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Filiberto Paredes sent off a good shot on target. With an all-out effort, AC Guadalajara's Virgilio Marcilla threw himself towards the right post 12 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Filiberto Paredes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, PERSPOLIS's Arash Lara got a free kick in the 13th minute. Virgilio Marcilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Filiberto Paredes in the 13th minute. Valdo Salas took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valdo Reyes. Valdo Reyes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After having played for 24 minutes, Valdo Salas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PERSPOLIS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valdo Salas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Valdo Reyes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdo Salas in the 26th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valdo Salas in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valdo Reyes saved AC Guadalajara from getting behind. The supporters of PERSPOLIS booed when AC Guadalajara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Medardo Teruel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valdo Reyes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Curcio Amer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valdo Reyes came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by PERSPOLIS's Valdo Salas. But to his dismay, Valdo Salas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 39thth minute of the game Valdo Salas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AC Guadalajara's Valdo Reyes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdo Salas in the 41st minute of play forced AC Guadalajara's goalkeeper Valdo Reyes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valdo Reyes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Curcio Amer, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The audience was convinced that Curcio Amer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valdo Reyes was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. After the first half PERSPOLIS were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Curcio Amer in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valdo Reyes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to AC Guadalajara getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Lander Caminero hit a great ball. Valdo Reyes was out of position in the 55 minute of play, and Valdo Salas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Valdo Salas really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. In the 58th match minute, AC Guadalajara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Medardo Teruel to maneuver through the defense. In the 62nd minute Romualdo Escurza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdo Reyes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Valdo Reyes managed to avoid a goal in the 68thth minute, when PERSPOLIS's Curcio Amer fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Curcio Amer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Valdo Reyes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the game, PERSPOLIS's Valdo Salas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Valdo Reyes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. 76 minutes into the match, PERSPOLIS's goal looked a bit too open when Filiberto Paredes came free, but Virgilio Marcilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. PERSPOLIS's Valdo Salas got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Curcio Amer came free with the goalkeeper in the 88th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Valdo Reyes could save by the left post. Valdo Reyes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Curcio Amer in the 89th minute. 91 minutes into the match Curcio Amer climbed in front of goal and pressed up 0-6 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Valdo Reyes. A collision led to PERSPOLIS getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Valdo Salas hit a great ball. The PERSPOLIS supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing PERSPOLIS would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
