Jan-Joost Smeekes was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Yuri Paauwe showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 57 minute of play. Floris Stühling made in the 60th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Fc Benefica's 宋宇博. Wilco Owusu Abeyie hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute Martin Andriessen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard Rijaard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Denny van den Berg fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fc Benefica's protests and gave Denny van den Berg a yellow card for diving instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Fc Benefica walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
