Henny Meijer started the match with the kick off. Maraman Reitsma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mika Nurmela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 6th match minute, Ágætis Byrjun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucien de Ridder to maneuver through the defense. In the 7th minute of the match Cobus van Damme sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Maraman Reitsma skillfully saved the ball. 9 minutes into the game, Ágætis Byrjun's Ted Borker nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan van der Werff made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mika Nurmela in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maraman Reitsma prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Mika Nurmela's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maraman Reitsma was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Laurens Erenstein who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 13thth minute tested the skills of Jonathan van der Werff when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ted Borker might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan van der Werff. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ted Borker ran back to his position shaking his head. Maraman Reitsma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mika Nurmela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute Who Ate All Depay were awarded a corner. Thomas Bessing went to the cornerflag to take it. After a defensive mix-up in Who Ate All Depay's zone, Ton Kort stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan van der Werff came out of the goal and Ton Kort tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ted Borker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jonathan van der Werff showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ted Borker, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Ágætis Byrjun's Maraman Reitsma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henny Meijer in the 36th minute of play. Ted Borker might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan van der Werff. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ted Borker ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Ágætis Byrjun's Laurens Erenstein got a free kick in the 45th minute. A collision led to Who Ate All Depay getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Cobus van Damme hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After a rather tough play, Ágætis Byrjun's Ton Kort got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 52nd minute of the match Cobus van Damme sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Maraman Reitsma skillfully saved the ball. Fokke Reitsma kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Maraman Reitsma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mika Nurmela in the 59th minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Ted Borker made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan van der Werff. Who Ate All Depay's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Ágætis Byrjun's Patrick van der Valk was substituted for Laurens Erenstein. 73 minutes into the game, Ted Borker cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Jonathan van der Werff was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Who Ate All Depay's zone, Ted Borker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan van der Werff came out of the goal and Ted Borker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan van der Werff stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ted Borker's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Maraman Reitsma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mika Nurmela in the 85th minute of play. In the 93rd minute Mika Nurmela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maraman Reitsma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Ted Borker managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ágætis Byrjun's supporters rose to their feet, but Ted Borker was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan van der Werff breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Who Ate All Depay's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
