In the 16th minute of the match, Jouke Jacobs tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Robert-Jan Hermensen saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Jouke Jacobs scored 2-0 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Robert-Jan Hermensen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 22nd minute, Mickael Achterberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jouke Jacobs struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Robert-Jan Hermensen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for De Pelgrims. NFC Eagles 22's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave De Pelgrims the free kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

If Jouke Jacobs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Handi Harri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Laurens Oosterman made a huge save. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by De Pelgrims's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Huib van der Gun was slow to take the kick. During this time NFC Eagles 22's players had a chance to rest. Robert-Jan Hermensen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emiel Dilling went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. 60 minutes into the match, NFC Eagles 22's goal looked a bit too open when Elbert Spanjer came free, but Robert-Jan Hermensen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. NFC Eagles 22's Robert-Jan Hermensen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jouke Jacobs in the 65th minute of play. Emiel Dilling scored 6-0 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Robert-Jan Hermensen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of De Pelgrims booed when NFC Eagles 22 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arjan Kun didn't get a good kick on the ball. Robert-Jan Hermensen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferdi van der Schaaf, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Robert-Jan Hermensen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ferdi van der Schaaf, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee ended the match the De Pelgrims players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
