Philip Zevenhuizen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mario Klompe having to interfere. When Stef Mol came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the SV Wissenkerke fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stef Mol couldn't finish the play. Arnold van Herwijnen struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Mario Klompe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SV Wissenkerke. SV Wissenkerke's Kenneth van der Leegte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferdi Dekens in the 21st minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Zijdewind SC's goal looked a bit too open when Arnold van Herwijnen came free, but Mario Klompe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th match minute, SV Wissenkerke was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans Oude Kamphuis to maneuver through the defense. Arnold van Herwijnen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnold van Herwijnen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Mario Klompe made a huge save. In the 37thth minute of the game Arnold van Herwijnen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zijdewind SC's Mario Klompe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Mirko Boezem fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SV Wissenkerke's protests and gave Mirko Boezem a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, SV Wissenkerke's Mirko Boezem got a free kick in the 41st minute. 42 minutes into the match, Henk-Jan Slot notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of SV Wissenkerke's Kenneth van der Leegte. Kenneth van der Leegte was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arnold van Herwijnen to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Arnold van Herwijnen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mario Klompe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kenneth van der Leegte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan Assendelft, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnold van Herwijnen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mario Klompe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. After 65 played minutes SV Wissenkerke got a freekick which was hit by Hans Oude Kamphuis. SV Wissenkerke's Kenneth van der Leegte proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save SV Wissenkerke from getting a goal against them. Philip Zevenhuizen kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After 72 played minutes SV Wissenkerke got a freekick which was hit by Wouter Kluivert. Ferdi Dekens could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Kenneth van der Leegte made a huge save. A collision led to SV Wissenkerke getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Marco Hofland hit a great ball. Ferdi Dekens was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 79th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Leendert Looze kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Hans Oude Kamphuis kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. 88 minutes into the game, Ferdi Dekens recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Kenneth van der Leegte. Ferdi Dekens showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Arnold van Herwijnen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mario Klompe having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Zijdewind SC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
