Marco van Persie started the match with the kick off. In the last second Edgard Rossi throw himself and got hold of the ball when Marco van Persie in the 5thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Almir Carneiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Carlos Moreno in the 8th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the game, José Carlos Hermes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Floresta Negra FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lidice the free kick. Lidice's Vivaldo Pontes was substituted for Zézinho de Barros. A collision led to Floresta Negra FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. José Carlos Hermes hit a great ball. Almir Carneiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Carlos Moreno in the 14th minute of the match. Floresta Negra FC's Almir Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik Cruz in the 15th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Lidice's Erik Cruz got a free kick in the 20th minute. Edgard Rossi acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 21st minute, took the ball on the long shot from José Carlos Hermes. A collision led to Lidice getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Charles Custódio hit a great ball. In the 24th minute, Valdemar de Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 26 minutes into the match, Floresta Negra FC's goal looked a bit too open when Erik Cruz came free, but Almir Carneiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th minute Marco van Persie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard Rossi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Lidice booed when Floresta Negra FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Carlos Hermes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 41st minute, Erik Cruz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 44 played minutes Floresta Negra FC got a freekick which was hit by José Paulo Toscano. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The supporters of Floresta Negra FC booed when Lidice was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Carlos Moreno didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute of the match José Carlos Hermes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edgard Rossi skillfully saved the ball. Floresta Negra FC's Geovanni Arósio got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 73rd minute of the match, Zé Carlos Moreno tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Almir Carneiro saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 75th minute of the match, Erik Cruz got a very nice opportunity to score, but Almir Carneiro was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Thanks to some nice moves Erik Cruz could shoot a difficult shot in the 79th minute, which Almir Carneiro however easily saved by the left post. If Zé Carlos Moreno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despite being the better team, Lidice failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
