FLANALDO's supporters rose to their feet, but Amadeu Silva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Roberto Chaves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Carlos Fernando Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the C.R. FLANALDO defense, Carlos Fernando Corrêa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luís de Moraes. The C.R. FLANALDO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luís de Moraes should have stopped the shot. A collision led to União Agrícola Barbarense getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Claudinei Leal hit a great ball. Allan Mendes got a throw-in 17 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Carlos Fernando Corrêa. Zé Roberto Chaves made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Robinho Goiano sent off a good shot on target. In the 27thth minute of the game Vladimir Valadares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.R. FLANALDO's Luís de Moraes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Amadeu Silva fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.R. FLANALDO's protests and gave Amadeu Silva a yellow card for diving instead. If Carlos Fernando Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luís de Moraes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Fernando Corrêa in the 32nd minute of play. União Agrícola Barbarense's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Vladimir Valadares in the 36th minute. After taking down the ball on União Agrícola Barbarense's corner Vladimir Valadares fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Luís de Moraes quite easily take care of the ball. Luís de Moraes came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by União Agrícola Barbarense's Natanael Velasco. But to his dismay, Natanael Velasco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Penha in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zé Roberto Chaves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. C.R. FLANALDO's Luís de Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vladimir Valadares in the 45th minute of play. When Zézinho Nóbrega came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the União Agrícola Barbarense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zézinho Nóbrega couldn't finish the play. After the first half União Agrícola Barbarense were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 52 played minutes C.R. FLANALDO got a freekick which was hit by Dida Dantas. Thanks to some nice moves Zézinho Nóbrega could shoot a difficult shot in the 53rd minute, which Luís de Moraes however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Penha in the 56th minute of play forced União Agrícola Barbarense's goalkeeper Zé Roberto Chaves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute Luiz Penha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Roberto Chaves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Fernando Corrêa in the 81st minute of play forced C.R. FLANALDO's goalkeeper Luís de Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís de Moraes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carlos Fernando Corrêa's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Vladimir Valadares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luís de Moraes having to make a save. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched União Agrícola Barbarense eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
