In the 17th minute, Jarbas de Queirós made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Luís Fernandez. Marzagão's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. 20 minutes into the match, Marzagão's goal looked a bit too open when Frederico Costa came free, but Pedro Luís Fernandez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Sagarana Clube's Pedro Luís Fernandez threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Manoel de Sousa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cafu Filho in the 25th minute of play forced Marzagão's goalkeeper Pedro Luís Fernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Cafu Filho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Pedro Luís Fernandez. Cafu Filho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarbas de Queirós in the 35th minute of play forced Marzagão's goalkeeper Pedro Luís Fernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Luís Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frederico Costa in the 36th minute of play. If Cafu Filho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frederico Costa made a kick off. Hudson Albuquerque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Pedro Luís Fernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Luís Fernandez came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Sagarana Clube's Hudson Albuquerque. But to his dismay, Hudson Albuquerque quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 10-0. In the 80th minute Cafu Filho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Luís Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
