If Fabinho Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute, Carlos Eduardo Severo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th minute of the match Vânderson Santana shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Perivaldo Azevedo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 30th minute Cássio Albuquerque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Perivaldo Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Santos City's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel de Toledo came free, but Perivaldo Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Perivaldo Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Novaes, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. 35 minutes into the match, RWD Molenbeek's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Furlan came free, but Almir Diniz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The wind increased when Anselmo Furlan made the kick off in the second half. Almir Diniz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jânio Hermes's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Fabinho Simão who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 55thth minute tested the skills of Perivaldo Azevedo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Perivaldo Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Novaes, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Anselmo Furlan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of RWD Molenbeek booed when Santos City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. The Santos City fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. RWD Molenbeek were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
