Hílton Hermes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldo Novaes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hílton Hermes made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Francisco Perez sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Jânio Hermes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santos City's supporters rose to their feet, but Jânio Hermes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Almir Diniz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Almir Diniz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jânio Hermes, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Almir Diniz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ian Ramalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Almir Diniz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jânio Hermes in the 15th minute of the match. Hílton Hermes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo Novaes in the 16th minute of play. Betinho Damião recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Santos City's Hílton Hermes got control of the ball when Francisco Perez tried to sneak it across the goal line. RWD Molenbeek's Almir Diniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jânio Hermes in the 30th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, RWD Molenbeek's goal looked a bit too open when Ian Ramalho came free, but Almir Diniz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronaldo Novaes might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hílton Hermes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ronaldo Novaes ran back to his position shaking his head. 36 minutes into the match, RWD Molenbeek's Francisco Perez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hílton Hermes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Fabinho Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nuno de Barros charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nuno de Barros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Santos City getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Nuno de Barros hit a great ball. In the 40th minute Ronaldo Novaes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hílton Hermes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anselmo Furlan to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Fabinho Simão notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Santos City's Hílton Hermes. Hílton Hermes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hílton Hermes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nuno de Barros got his second yellow card in the match during the 66th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Bebeto Reis kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. A collision led to Santos City getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Perivaldo Azevedo hit a great ball. RWD Molenbeek's Vânderson Santana couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 95th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Santos City. When the referee ended the match the RWD Molenbeek players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
