After 8 minutes of play, Cactos's Reinaldo Teles made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gilson Queiroz was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 14th minute, Reinaldo Teles ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gilson Queiroz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Amauri Prestes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caco Corrêa in the 27th minute of the match. Werneck FC - DMZ's Gilson Queiroz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardinho Valle in the 33rd minute of play. Werneck FC - DMZ's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Lenílson Rodrigues 34 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-0. Caco Corrêa hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Lenílson Rodrigues's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Gilson Queiroz - 4-0 was put on the score board in the 38th minute. Caco Corrêa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amauri Prestes having to interfere. 44 minutes into the game, Fabiano Massa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Werneck FC - DMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cactos the free kick. A collision led to Werneck FC - DMZ getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Fabiano Massa hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Caco Corrêa made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Lenílson Rodrigues ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gilson Queiroz was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Werneck FC - DMZ's Gilson Queiroz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Passos in the 54th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Werneck FC - DMZ's Eusébio Marquez got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Gilson Queiroz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardinho Valle in the 66th minute of play. If Pedro Luiz Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. Zé Paulo Fernandez charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The supporters of Cactos booed when Werneck FC - DMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Paulo Fernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute, Zé Paulo Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
