An unexpectedly hard shot by Célio Mineiro in the 24th minute of play forced Cactos's goalkeeper Amauri Prestes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the game, Lenílson Rodrigues was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cactos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Limoeiro-PE FC the free kick. In the 77th minute, Cactos's Hamílton Trigo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Hamílton Trigo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Cactos protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Hamílton Trigo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Hamílton Trigo hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 78th minute, Júnior Galego got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
