Marco Nóbrega charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marco Nóbrega the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 23 minutes into the match, REAL RIO CRVG's Durvalino Sarmento broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedrão Souza in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hílton Magalhães saved Botinho FC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Fernandes in the 45th minute of play forced Botinho FC's goalkeeper Hílton Magalhães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Pedrão Souza made the kick off in the second half. Hílton Magalhães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Fernandes in the 52nd minute of the match. After taking down the ball on REAL RIO CRVG's corner Durvalino Sarmento fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Hílton Magalhães quite easily take care of the ball. The supporters of REAL RIO CRVG booed when Botinho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamin Rossi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Botinho FC's Hílton Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Fernandes in the 61st minute of play. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Botinho FC's goalkeeper Hílton Magalhães, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. REAL RIO CRVG walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
