Adhemar Gaúcho ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the Portuguesa defense, Adhemar Gaúcho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Régis Castro. The Portuguesa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Régis Castro should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Portuguesa booed when Guarani Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Túlio Ceresso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Betinho Severo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. José Augusto Mineiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Guarani Futebol Clube booed when Portuguesa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. The crowd rose to their feet as Adhemar Gaúcho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Régis Castro. That made the score 2-0 in the 37 minute of play. Adhemar Gaúchos short, quick shot in the 42ndth minute got Régis Castro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Afonsinho Mattos kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. A collision led to Guarani Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Matías Carioca hit a great ball.

Régis Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matías Carioca in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guarani Futebol Clube's goalkeeper José Augusto Mineiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 55th minute, Galindo España hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Galindo España during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Galindo España hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. José Augusto Mineiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charles Arantes in the 63rd minute of play. In the 70th minute, Charles Arantes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Portuguesa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 74th minute, Charles Arantes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of José Augusto Mineiro. The goal made the score 2-2. Adhemar Gaúcho struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Régis Castro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guarani Futebol Clube. Guarani Futebol Clube's José Augusto Mineiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Guarani Futebol Clube from getting a goal against them. Portuguesa's Betinho Severo got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
